01 / Scope

A development privacy notice, not a final release policy.

This notice describes the current iPhone development implementation of Famtid, published by Steffen Aspe under the SABONEX brand. References to SABONEX mean Steffen Aspe operating under that brand.

The verified implementation provides a manual, individual-first flow: the person using the device grants Apple Screen Time access, selects activities and starts or stops a temporary shield. Famtid does not yet provide a family agreement, schedule, shared account, child account, history or automatic start and end.

The final authorization model is still undecided. Child and teen device paths have not been verified, and the current release build is not configured for public Screen Time distribution. This notice must be reviewed again before TestFlight or App Store use with real families.

Visits to this page and the rest of the SABONEX website are covered separately by the SABONEX website privacy notice.

02 / Screen Time access

Famtid asks the person on the device to approve Apple Screen Time access.

The current product flow requests Apple's individual Screen Time authorization. Apple presents and manages the authorization process. Famtid reads the resulting authorization status so it can show whether access is available and clear an active shield if access is lost.

The person chooses apps, app categories or web domains through Apple's activity picker. The current Famtid code handles those choices as Apple-provided tokens. It does not use a SABONEX account or send the selection to a SABONEX server.

Famtid uses the selected tokens only to apply or remove Apple's system shielding on that device. The current app does not inspect messages, photos, browser content, app content or communication inside the selected activities.

03 / Information on the device

The current implementation keeps its working information on the device.

The development build can handle the following information locally:

  • Screen Time authorization status — used to decide whether the manual Famtid flow can start or must stop.
  • Apple activity-selection tokens for selected applications, categories and web domains — used to configure the shield.
  • Selection counts and current phase — used to show a simple summary such as the number of selected activities and whether Famtid is active.
  • Current shield configuration — read back from the named Apple Managed Settings store so Famtid can recognize an active shield after the app process restarts.

The current product implementation does not create usage statistics, rankings, activity history or a profile of how long individual apps are used. It does not store a family roster, names, email addresses or a shared family agreement.

04 / Storage & deletion

No Famtid database or account is used in the verified implementation.

The selected activity tokens live in app memory while the manual flow is being used. If no shield is active, the selection is lost when the app process is relaunched.

While Famtid is active, Apple Managed Settings keeps the shield configuration in a dedicated system-side store on the device. This lets Famtid recognize the active shield and offer Stop Famtid after a relaunch. Stopping Famtid clears all settings in that dedicated store. The current code also clears the manual shield and drops the selection when Screen Time access is lost.

Famtid currently has no backend, cloud sync, app account or app-owned persistent database for this information. SABONEX therefore cannot retrieve or delete a person's on-device selection from a server. The user controls the current state through Famtid and Apple's Screen Time settings.

05 / Monitoring & tracking

No family surveillance, advertising or analytics in the verified code.

The current implementation has no third-party SDK, advertising, analytics, behavioural tracking, backend or network account flow. It does not provide another family member with remote monitoring of the device.

Development builds can write count-only diagnostics to a Mac development console. These diagnostics can include authorization state, app phase and the number of selected or shielded apps, categories and web domains. They do not log token contents or app names. This diagnostic logging is compiled only into DEBUG builds and is not part of the verified release configuration.

06 / Apple system services

Apple's Family Controls and Managed Settings frameworks perform the system functions.

Famtid relies on Apple system frameworks for authorization, the activity picker and enforcement of shielding. Apple controls the operating-system interfaces and the device-level storage and enforcement performed by those frameworks.

The current Famtid code does not add its own server transmission of selected activities. This notice does not attempt to redefine Apple's independent processing, platform terms or device services. Users can review the privacy and Screen Time information provided by Apple for their device and account.

07 / Support & rights

Device-only selections and information sent to SABONEX are separate.

If a person contacts info@sabonex.com, SABONEX may process the information they choose to include, such as name, email address, message content and attachments, to answer the enquiry, troubleshoot the development build and retain necessary follow-up or documentation. Depending on the context, that processing may rely on legitimate interests, steps requested by the person, an agreement or a legal obligation.

Do not send screenshots or descriptions that reveal selected apps, family circumstances or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for the support request.

Where privacy law applies, a person may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and, in some cases, data portability in relation to personal data that Steffen Aspe/SABONEX actually holds. SABONEX cannot access device-only Screen Time selections through a server. Privacy requests can be sent to info@sabonex.com. A complaint may also be made to the competent data protection authority; in Denmark, this is Datatilsynet.

08 / Changes

This notice follows the implementation.

The page must be reviewed when Famtid changes its authorization model, adds persistence, schedules, extensions, family sharing, accounts, networking, analytics, payment or any other material data flow. Planned ideas are not described here as current processing.
